This was our first trip to the northern parts of California. We mapped out a a few spots we wanted to stop for a road trip over the 4th of July weekend. We planned on taking the coastal route all the way up but had to turn back due to a landslide that had the route blocked. The sun was shining when we got the Lassen and there were few people that we saw. As we strapped Jet into this carrier and the dogs on their leashes we began to hike one the trails. With promises of views of the dormant volcano we walked on roads and through a fairly long and open field. Our hike was rewarded with the glasslike water and one of the most peaceful streams we’ve ever come across.
