Tanzania will forever hold a special place in our hearts! Going on an African Safari is something we hope everyone has the chance to see in their lives. We were fortunate enough to spend three weeks amongst family and friends (both old and new) in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. When we first got there we spent a couple nights at the Kimemo Coffee Lodge. Kimemo is right near Arusha, while we were here we had the opportunity to hang out with some of our brother-in-law’s family where the kids were able to ride horses and dirt bikes; they even had a dirt bike that Jet could ride.

We then made our way to stay at the Tarangire Safari Lodge inside of Tarangire National Park. This lodge had the most amazing views! We saw so many animals on our game drives (Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Leopards, Cape Buffalo, Giraffes, Zebras, and so much more)! Serengeti Safari Select set us up with the most amazing drivers who were able to introduce us to the local community and also knew the parks so well they knew exactly where to take us to see all of the animals— to include a Leopard with a fresh kill!

After Tarangire, we stopped at a Massai Market and at the Snake Farm to learn more about the local community and how they survive. Then headed to the Simba Farm located at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro. Simba Farm was one of Chelsea’s favorite place we stayed when in Tanzania. Simba Farm had the most magical views of mountains and forest. We hiked along a river and decided to jump in! The water was run off from the ice melting off Mt Kilimanjaro, it was so cold!

We then headed off to Pangani Beach. We were so fortunate to stay directly on the beach at the Emayani Beach Lodge. This lodge was so beautiful, food was amazing, and the staff was so attentive. One of the staff members took us to the Disappearing Island for some lunch and snorkeling. They even set up a private boat to take us to Zanzibar.

During our three week trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar, we worked with Serengeti Select Safaris. I could not recommend them enough. Since this was our first vacation out of the country with our kids, we were a little nervous. Serengeti Select Safaris scheduled absolutely everything for us. They got us personal drivers to help us get around and they were so happy to teach us about their culture and language.
